What’s your Story

Over time, I have realized that everyone on this earth, whether living or dead has some form of story to tell.

Some of these stories are celebratory in nature, others are sad, while some evoke a mix of both.

Most people won’t share their stories on TV, social media handles like Medium, Instagram, Twitter and the likes. Some can’t even share their stories with their closest family members or friends.

I am a very emotional person, hence when I hear stories that touch or move me, I tend to cry and feel the pain of the people around me. I realize I also have mybstories too, stories I might not be willing to share publicly or sometimes privately. As I watched, American Idol yesterday, and listened to the Ronda Felton story, I was reminded again that several people share the same story with her around the world. Last year, Just Sam’s story touched me just in the same way. Other people sad stories across social media reminds me daily that no one is above pain.

We get to hear these stories from time to time and while the stories may vary in its level of hardship and pain, it’s consistent in that everyone seems to have one. It is important for us to begin to show empathy to everyone around us even when we feel they don’t deserve it.A nice word to your neighbors every other day might be just what they need. Being friendly should not be as over-rated as it has now become.

Even the rich also cry, and even they have some really touching stories and they deserve some empathy too. I wish everyone in the…
